This item has not been used as of late as the apartments I live in does not allow anyone to BBQ anyware on the property, because the insurance people said so like stucko is going to burn.
This rotisserie is labeled and boxed Charbroil. Hopefully it lasts during this summer. And forget about opening the side burner lid.
It is not. I had to pound the bracket flat in order to make clearance for the side burner lid to open. One would figure that it would be a good fit for a Charbroil BBQ.
The bracket gets in the way. I had to tweak the brackets and drill two additional holes into the BBQ side firewall to make them fit right. If I used the pre-drilled holes, the lid would not close.
Now after some unnecessary adjustments, everything worked out ok.Cheap plastic motor housing. Buy Cheap, you get Cheap.
Bought this at Home Depot for $60. Included brackets fit perfectly for my Uniflame Walmart grill. Did an eye of round roast on it and it came out excellent. Brackets are a little flimsy thats why I gave it 4 stars, but its a great product for the price especially through Amazon.
With the grill top shut, I've had to look over at the spit several times to make sure it was still turning. I've used it five or six times in the month since I bought it and there's been no problem at all. I was reluctant to buy after reading earlier reviews about the motor dying first time out of the box. (Another important note. Also, the motor is surprisingly quiet. a good thing. this same rotisserie costs $89 at my local Home Depot. more than double what I paid here).
Got the Charbroil rotisserie to match the Charbroil grill. Because of course no one on the west coast would ever grill on the weekends or after 3 PM. We've done a leg of lamb, two tri-tips and a chicken. The ones the manual says to use do not allow the cover to close. And the brackets needed to be bent to shape, and there's a bit of consequent rubbing when raising the side-burner cover. The other ones are bent in at an angle. Same problem we've had every time we've ever bought a rotisserie previously: The assortment of preconfigured brackets do not exactly match our grill. Moneygrubbing liars. However, a few minutes in the vice straightens the bend and they now fit, which is better than the last time, when we had to drill new holes in sheet metal. Why on earth does Charbroil think that people buy accessories the same year they buy their grill, and why don't they make the brackets standard from year to year. The cord was also exactly one foot too short to reach the outlet on the wall behind the barbecue, but a one-foot extender we'd gotten for computer work fixed that.Regardless, once it was installed and plugged in, it's worked beautifully.
Charbroil had a service number which the manual listed as being available 24/7. Of course, when we called we found that they're on east coast time and had decided it would amuse them to cut their hours down to M-F regular office hours and we're in California. All that's worked great. So, in short, the service center hours listed in the manual are wrong, because Charbroil's service center is budgeted by moneygrubbing liars. However, the unit itself works well, the bamboo handle is a big plus, and we've made nice dinners with the unit.
